When it comes to wallpaper, the decision of which wallpaper to use can be difficult, there are so many to choose from in the way of pattern, textures and colour.
It can be intimidating because of how permanent it is.
One question you need to ask yourself is ‘Do you want this to be the feature of the room’, big and bold’ or ‘Do I want the wallpaper to feature softly with some subtle pattern colour and texture’ What is YOUR style?
From here you will be able to distinguish your look, theme and feel for the room.
This particular pattern of geometric design is subtle and easy giving you a lovely backdrop with a hint of colour and great design.
The birch trees I love as it is somewhat neutral however not a perfect pattern so very interesting on the eye. This design also is not limited to one space it can work in a bedroom, living room or anywhere in the house.
Block colours on wallpaper look amazing and really give introduce attitude to a space for example the image below.
Stripes will always be on trend and a personal love of mine. Can be hung horizontally or vertically depending on ceiling height the overall impact you wish to give. I love this hallway below where the art has been hung on top of the walloper in the hallway, makes for a very interesting creative style.
Remember hallways are a transitional space so one never sits in there. Here you can choose to be bold.
Choosing a wall or space to wallpaper can be challenging.
Ideally wallpaper does not get wrapped around lots of doors and windows in a room, it should be placed on a solid wall with preferably no windows or door, sometimes this cannot be avoided given space. Hallways are great to wallpaper as a feature, behind beds, powder rooms and living room walls. So a combination of wallpaper and paint go hand in hand, its all about mixing it up and layering up your textures so the combination works well.
Have fun with wallpaper, its not really so permanent, it really does liven up a space!
